Expert's Bio
Because of a passion to see the world and a background of organizing and event planning, I entered the travel industry in 1989. In 1992, we opened Landmark Travel and focused our business on the upscale leisure market. Our business steadily grew from referrals from discriminating clients, so that we are the premier upscale leisure agency in the Fort Lauderdale area. I became a "Certified Travel Counselor" (CTC) in 1997, the highest degree of education in the travel industry. Our agency has organized charitable fundraising cruises for many non-profits in our community since 1992 giving us a "high profile" image within our city and giving back to the city that has given us so much. I have traveled much of the world and experienced destinations the way our clientele would chose to do so. There is nothing that can replace "first hand" knowledge. My philosophy of doing business has always been one of very personalized service and always exceeding my client's expectations.

My Recent Trips My recent trip to Italy was one of the best trips. Staying a week in Rome and visiting the Vatican, Sistine Chapel,
Coliseum, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain (yes, I did throw a coin in the fountain to ensure I'd return to Italy), and the catacombs. I stayed and visited numerous luxury hotels. It was a trip of a lifetime and I can't wait to get back.
Other trips have been locally in Florida. Weekend in Naples and the Keys. Numerous trips to Disney with the family. Daytona Beach was a very relaxing place. The beach is gorgeous and The Shores is the place to stay.
Past trips includes, Rome, Milan, Lugano, Bellagio, Bergamo, Lake Como, Lake Garda, London, Cotswalds, Switzerland, Paris, New York, Germany, Hawaii, Las Vegas, North Carolina, Phoenix, St. Louis, Whistler, Vancouver, Montreal and numerous cruises.

Expert's Bio
Luxury cruises, tours and adventure travel are my forte. I enjoy the challenge of booking individual Around the World itineraries. On any given day I'll be helping clients arrange World Cruises and then the next be planning ‘out of ordinary' experiences for other clients. If you're interested in training with a private guide to climb the Matterhorn, visiting a tribal chief in the wilds of New Guinea, or fishing for Bonefish on Christmas Island, I'm your person.
My 36 year career includes being a CTC, the highest accreditation in my field. Like my partners and staff, I pride myself with my personalized service that I bestow on my clients.
My Recent Trips
I just returned from a whirlwind journey to British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, that included visiting Tofino (Vancouver Island), located on the edge of the Pacific Rim National Park and stayed at the beautiful Wickaninnish Inn. I also experienced camping with black bears at the Clayoquot Wilderness Retreat, my most unique outdoor adventure yet!
My husband and I, along with some clients, then traveled on the Rocky Mountaineer Train from Vancouver to Jasper. The luxury domed train ride was a wonderful way to view the majestic Canadian Rockies. Once in Jasper and renting a car, I was amazed at the beauty on the drive on the Icefields Parkway to Banff and strongly suggest it to everyone. The next week was spent exploring the Banff and Lake Louise area and I came back with another scrapbook filled with photos of wildlife, stories of fly fishing, a list of sites and activities not to miss and a pocketful of names to great restaurants.
Galapagos in 2007 was a dream come true, as it was high on my wish list. Imagine having to walk around sea lions, seeing giant tortoises in the wild and snorkeling with penguins! I highly suggest this trip for families and animal lovers, it's a once in your lifetime experience.
Alaska is my true love, being there in 2005 & 2006 and already planning to take another group for 2009. Cruising aboard the RSSC Mariner is my favorite way to see the sights plus visiting Talkeetna, which offers the best view of Mt. McKinley, and of course spending time in Denali National Park.

Expert's Bio I have been in the travel industry for over 30 years, I started my career in Toledo Ohio. I enjoy the travel industry, it is constantly changing and therefore never boring.
I love to travel and enjoy suggesting vacations for my clients. I handle corporate accounts, large and small, enjoy booking group and family reunion cruises, honeymoons and family travel. I love a challenge, service is my number one priority.
My Recent Trips March 2009 Holland America Cruise Panama Canal Zuiderdam 10 nights sailing from Ft. Lauderdale to Half Moon Cay, Aruba, Bonaire, Panama Canal and Costa Rica.
We did a partial Panama Canal transit - we were on Gatun Lake for a few hours and returned thru the same locks that afternoon. Highlight of the trip was zip lining in Costa Rica -that was great fun and not as scary as I thought it would be.
June 2009 Copenhagen Denmark for a 12 night Scandinavia/Russia cruise on Azamara Journey. Weather was perfect and the ship and itinerary were excellent. We traveled to Germany, Finland, Russia, Sweden, Estonia and Denmark. All aspects of this trip were truly remarkable!
Mary Borst
Interests & Specialties Cruises, Tours, World Cruise Specialist....30 years in the travel business.....and in December of 2008 I took a cruise around South America to the northwest coast of Antarctica. Fabulous.
Expert's Bio My interest in geography and travel developed in childhood as daughter of a Scottish-born Mother who grew up in Shanghai, China, and a Southern Father.
Relatives on the maternal side of my family have also lived in Egypt and India, all part of the British Foreign Service. Thus China, Egypt and India were on top of my list of places to see. As well as Macau, Marrakech, Manaus and Moscow, because these sound so exotic.
I have visited all these destinations and many more - traveling on 6 of the 7 continents. Antarctica being as yet unvisited. I have lived in Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC. and New York City and have worked in travel over 30 years.
I love helping people who like to travel and am happy working and making cruise, tour or package plans for clients - so, please let me know what trips I can arrange for you.
My Recent Trips My most recent international trip was to Asiatic Turkey. Asia and Europe meet in Turkey both physically and culturally and are separated by the Bosporus. Istanbul - founded as Byzantium, renamed Constantinople when Constantine the Great chose it to be capital of the Roman Empire, eventually became Istanbul - so named by the Ottomans.
Leaving the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Museum and Grand Bazaar of Istanbul behind, I was off to the Asian side of Turkey - to Ankara, the capital since 1923 when Kemal Ataturk moved the capital here from Istanbul. Museums in Ankara memorialize Ataturk and his efforts in curbing the influence of Islam and westernizing aspects of daily life; off with the fez and veil!
Next we proceeded toward the plateau of Cappadocia and visited the walled 13th c. Seljuk Caravansary. The square fortress-like caravansaries were the "hotels" along caravan routes in ancient days and were designed to protect travelers on their journeys.
Now the country is really getting interesting: First the village of Kaymakli and its underground cities which can be visited by waddling through tunnels which extend 170' below the earth's surface. The caves of Cappadocia became safe havens against onslaughts from invading armies. The Troglodyte village of Goreme has churches built inside rocks with frescos dating from the 6th c.
Many other fascinating spots are in Asia Minor and I will particularly mention the town of Konya and the Mevlana Monastery of the (whirling) Dervishes. Dervishes are a religious order and dance a spiritual journey. This is where they trained and are buried.
Pamkkale-Denizli has spectacular white lime cascades formed by its hot outdoor mineral spring - a relaxing thermal resort.
What is more impressive than Ephesus?! A fantastic archaeological site! At one time capital of Roman Asia Minor and once one of the greatest cities of the Ancient World. Here is one of the best preserved ancient amphitheaters still used today...Diana Ross performed here. Construction just isn't built to last this long anymore.
Then Troy: celebrated city of Homer's "Iliad and the Odyssey". As many as 7 cities of Troy may have been built and rebuilt over the same site here.
From Canakkale we ferried the Dardanelles across to the Gallipoli Peninsula to pay tribute at the ANZAC cemeteries of WW I renown. I am now back in Europe.

Expert's Bio I have been a resident of Ft Lauderdale for over 50 years and a travel consultant for over 20. My love of travel started when my husband would be on fishing trips. At that time, I decided to take advantage of his being gone and do some traveling. After a number of trips to Europe as well as in the States, I decided to do a career change, so back to school I went! Having traveled to various parts of the world, I have first hand knowledge in planning a dream vacation. Groups are my specialty. At their request, I accompany each one to make sure every detail is taken care of, be it business meetings on ships, families joining together to celebrate a special occasion or just visiting a unique place in this wonderful world with special friends.
My Recent Trips This past year, I have been to Bermuda (third time there), cruising on ships, and visiting China – ask me about that – it was wonderful!

I love to travel! What a way to get an education and learn about peoples of different countries.
I started out traveling the United States in the late 60's by attending conventions in the secretarial organization I belonged to at that time. I quickly got the "bug" and was able to join a travel agency in Fort Lauderdale.
I was exposed to "group" travel while working under the direction of the City of Hollywood,
Florida Recreation Department, planning, organizing and escorting seniors on short day trips and cruises.
I have become a specialist in group travel after 30 years of experience with groups, especially senior groups; taking them on cruises, both large ships and river boats, and flights overseas to Europe and
China.
My Recent Trips My more recent cruise was sailing the Danube river during the Christmas Holiday, from Passau, Germany to Budapest. The scenery was magnificent and unforgettable to me as well as to my clients on board.
I would be happy to help you plan a trip for yourself or your group.

Expert's Bio
I have been in the Travel Business since opening my own agency 28 years ago. When being an ‘owner' interfered with my travel, we sold our agency and have since made "travel" both our vocation and avocation! We began seriously traveling in the ‘60's and have never looked back. We have been to all 7 continents, every ocean, most countries, and have sailed on more than 150 cruises on all manner of vessels - barges, riverboats, sailboats, small cruise ships and large cruise ships. We have kept extensive notes on all of our trips and have the expertise to give both general and specific advice, sometimes even including beauty salons, restaurants, and certainly shopping! I am available whenever I am not traveling and researching new and better destinations! When we are "on a trip", I am competently backed up by Landmark Travel.
My Recent Trips OH! WOW!! That's all we could say after experiencing Polar Bears "up close and personal" on an Expedition Cruise to the Arctic in July '08!! What a very special trip this was on Silversea's new Expedition ship, Prince Albert II. This was their first endeavor into the adventure cruise market and they have fulfilled it beyond our expectation! The ship is Silversea luxury all the way, tastefully furnished, comfortable suites, with lovely bathrooms, delightful public rooms and an all windowed dining room! Food and service was comparable to all 5 Star cruise ships. The expedition staff was top notch and their presentations and lectures were both interesting and informative. They were also excellent zodiac drivers and excursion guides! What a joy to come in from an icebound excursion to hot chocolate laced with Bailey's or hot spiced tea laced w/ Grand Marnier! The second part of this wonderful trip went to Iceland, 7 different stops all around the island. This is a destination that stands on it's own for anyone interested in fishing, hiking, birding, whaling, geology amidst clear, clean air and spectacular scenery!
September, 2007 A riverboat trip in Russia. I flew first to Helsinki, Finland and spent two days there enjoying their unique history and architecture. Then rode the train between Helsinki and St.
Petersburg, a very pleasant 3 hour trip. We were immediately transferred to our Russian riverboat, which would be our home for the next 12 days. While it was comfortable, warm and friendly, the Russian riverboats are not luxurious. Rather basic would be my best description! Having said that, I can tell you that no one really minded because the trip was so well handled and interesting that all else was forgiven! The food was very adequate, the guides were extraordinary, and the touring was superb. We actually had some private tours of the Hermitage, the Summer Palace, a private ballet and opera, as well as other surprise amenities throughout. St. Petersburg is back to it's glory prior to WWII and is a pleasure to visit. All along the river, we made stops, that gave us an inkling into life outside the big cities, and the treasures these small towns possessed..
Our arrival into Moscow was an exciting surprise. It, too, has become a major, modern, sophisticated city of the world since the removal of the "Iron Curtain" some 15 years ago.
Again, the guides were superb and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the history of this great city. Russian History is a long one and filled with many twists and turns, which makes it a fascinating country to experience in this in depth form.
February, 2007 was the departure on the long flight from Miami to Sydney, Australia.
Our arrival there coincided with the arrival of both Cunard Queens, the Mary and the Elizabeth, which was quite the occasion ‘down under', replete with fireworks, ‘in the buff' water skiers (!), and unbelievable traffic! I boarded Silverseas ‘Silver Cloud' the next day for a Southern Australia journey from Sydney to Perth. It was a different and very pleasant trip, with great wine tasting at the famous Australian vineyards in this region! The next segment went from Perth to Singapore, with stops planned in Exmouth and Broome, Western Australia; however, those were cancelled due to two ‘cyclones' that affected that area! We managed to skirt them and enjoy a 4 day sail up into Indonesia, Malaysia, and finally Singapore. We did stop at Komodo Island and saw those gargantuan lizards! I wouldn't want to meet up with one on a dark night!!
CHINA - June 26 - July 10, 2009: This was a tour organized by Abercrombie and Kent (A & K). I must first say how well operated it was and what a superb escort we had. A gentleman who has lived in Hong Kong and escorted tours all over Asia for the past 40 years. He was a ‘walking encyclopedia’ of history, customs, tradition, as well as knowledge of each and every ‘sightseeing’ site. All the well known sights to see; ie, the Great Wall, Forbidden City, the Olympic Site in Beijing do not disappoint, but the progress that has been made in under 30 years is truly remarkable. The Terracotta soldiers in Xian are as spectacular as expected, with the bulk of the Emperor’s tomb still unopened! The Three Gorges on the Yangtze are beautiful still, but not quite as dramatic as they were before the river was flooded by the Dam. Shanghai is a beautiful city with outstanding architecture and many technological advances, while retaining it’s “Paris of the East” quality. The highlight for me (which I added on separately) was the Panda Reserve and Research Station in Cheng du, Szuchan province. For a small donation, one is allowed to hold a 9 month old panda and pet a two year old panda. It was truly a thrill and a wonderful memory to cherish. All the hotels were deluxe, the food extraordinarily good, and the Yangtze Explorer riverboat, just a joy to experience! Beautiful, comfortable, with every possible amenity. I definitely recommend this destination.

My Recent Trips VIETNAM AND CAMBODIA September 2005
Vietnam, once a country divided, now united as one.
My trip started with the 2nd longest flight in the world, JFK to Bangkok on Thai Airways. I then made a direct connection to Hanoi, the capital and political heart of modern Vietnam. In Hanoi I stayed at the Hotel Sofitel Metropole, a hotel nearly 100 years old, yet still pristine for the 21st century traveler. Charlie Chaplin honeymooned there in the 1920's.
In Hanoi I recommend seeing the following: Ho Chi Minh's house, the One Pillared Pagoda, Quanh Tanh Temple, Hanoi Hilton, and Ho Chi Minh's body lying in state in the mausoleum that bears his name. I highly recommend a day trip to Ha Long "Bay of the descending Dragon".
Next, it was a short flight to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. The must see sites in Hue include: Imperial Citadel, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Mausoleums, and a scenic boat trip on the Perfume River. In Hue I stayed at the Saigon Morin Hotel. The hotel is centrally located with beautiful
river view rooms.
My next stop was Hoi An. Hoi An is a trading port. Unfortunately, when I was there a typhoon was there first. Some of the streets still had standing water. It's a walking town. No vehicles allowed. Hoi An is a shopper's paradise. Here I saw the Japanese Covered Bridge and Museum. It is also a resort area. The Victoria Hoi An Resort was my home away from home in Hoi An.
It's on to Ho Chi Minh City (formally Saigon). HCMC, as it is referred to, is a bustling city complete with their own KFC. Here I stayed at the Caravelle Hotel. This is a new high rise with sweeping views of the city. The hotel has several restaurants and bars, and a casino. I would be remiss not to mention that it also makes one of the best crème brulee on the planet. Within the city the sights to see are: Thien Hau Pagoda, Cholon (Chinatown) district, Presidential Palace, and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Outside the city are the infamous Cu Chi tunnels. These tunnels were used during the Vietnam War by the Viet Cong. The tours and lectures are given by former VC's. Going in the tunnels is not an easy task. They are dark, there is little air, and they are confining. The tunnels consist of three levels. As you go down a level the tunnels get smaller. I made it down to level two.
I'm off to Phnom Penh, the capitol of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Here I visited the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda and the National Museum.
I stayed at the historical Raffles Hotel Le Royale. It was here that Jacqueline Kennedy had a drink made in her honor called the Femme Fatale.
After a short flight I am at the highpoint of my adventure, Siem Reap gateway to Angkor Wat. To say the site is truly magnificent is not enough. I think everyone who is physically able should see it. Angkor Wat is only one temple in a series of many temples built over hundreds of years. Their names may not be familiar to you, but their pictures are. I visited all of them. It is not necessary to do that. Here are the must sees: Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, the Elephant and Leper King Terraces, and Ta Prohm. Sunset at Angkor Wat is a beautiful sight. The stone changes color with the setting sun. For me seeing it at ground level wasn't enough. I went on a hot air balloon, and on a helicopter ride. Here I stayed at another Raffle's hotel the Grand D'Angkor. This hotel was built in the 1920's and has kept that charm.
THE WORLD - December 2005
When I told people that I was going to cruise on The World, their first comment was "what's The World". I explained that it's not just a cruise ship, but a floating luxury hotel that sails around the world. The ship consists of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments. These accommodations are for rent (6-night minimum) or for sale. In fact, the ship itself is owned by the tenants who own the apartments. The Tenant-owners or Residents stay aboard as little or as long as they wish. You have the fabulous opportunity to stay in one of these homes through a rental program.
The ship is as beautiful as one would expect for the clientele it attracts. The food is outstanding; the service is stellar. The World is unique as it overnights in practically every port in which she stops with usual stays lasting 2, 3 or more nights depending on the city and the sights or events of the region. This ship, The World, is for the discriminating traveler who want only the best and for those cruisers who wish to stay longer in cities to do more exploring. Well traveled people want to go not only to the popular places, but also those off the beaten path.
The World does have various onboard activities: music nightly, a movie theatre, an intimate casino as well as a full gym and spa center, golf simulator, library, and a wide variety of DVD's for borrow. However, this ship is not for those who need daily activities, nightly entertainment, and general hand holding 16 hours a day. It is ideal if you like your "space" and privacy and wish to explore and travel on your terms. The World is a unique experience for the discerning traveler that is looking for an idyllic travel lifestyle.

His love for Europe always brings a smile to his face. When a necessary career change took place in the 1990s, he discovered a new passion … cruising. For many years he wrote and developed marketing programs for some of the household names in the cruise business, including Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruise Lines and Carnival.
Now he has joined Landmark Travel, bringing along this special knowledge to our clients.
My Recent Trips In my twenty years as an executive with Eastern I made plenty of trips: I will attempt to list them. London ( at least 6 times), St Petersburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Helsinki, Rome, Venice, Naples, Messina, Denmark, all of Italy, Milan, Lucerne, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Barcelona,
