The “travel bug” bit me in 1972, when I met my husband, Gavino, who was then, Chief Electrical Engineer, on board a cruise ship.
Two years later, our honeymoon took me to a very special island, Sardegna, Italy, my husband’s birth place, and which the Aga Kahn had just discovered and was developing. Sardegna is known for its rustic beauty, gorgeous beaches, hospitable people, unique cuisine and wonderful full bodied wines. Little did I know it would become my favorite spot on earth and eventually my home.
In 1987, we began construction in Sardegna on our home and also the first supermarket in the village where we lived. To improve my Italian speaking skills, I accepted a seasonal position with Gianni Versace Boutique in Porto Cervo, and later managed a new hotel.
After our son graduated from the Italian school system, we sold our supermarket and returned to South Florida in 1992 where we owned and operated a beachfront gift and basket boutique for several years.
From there, I moved on to the Boca Raton Resort and Club as International Concierge for three years. I was then recruited by Boca Developers as Director of Personal Services for three of their upscale condominium development projects in Boca Raton. This gave me the opportunity over eleven years, to not only become involved in sales and marketing, construction issues, every day and special requests of our residents, but also travel arrangements and event planning in an upscale five star/five diamond world.
On occasion, I was fortunate to not only arrange travel on private jets to exotic destinations, five star hotels and villas, but to accompany the residents to my favorite destination, Italy, creating experiences for wonderful lifetime memories.
After leaving my position as Director of Personal Services, I partnered with a former colleague of the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Mark Keller, to create our own company, Luxury Lifestyle Group.
